Applications Now Open for Canadian Food Policy Advisory Council

The Canadian Food Policy Advisory Council has been established by the Government of Canada as a key component of the Food Policy for Canada. This multidisciplinary group aims to address complex and systemic food issues by bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences related to social, environmental, health, and economic aspects of the food system. Applications are now open for new Council members, with a deadline of August 17, 2023. Canadian citizens or permanent residents with expertise and experience in the food sector are encouraged to apply. The Council’s role includes advising the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, facilitating dialogue on food-related challenges and opportunities, and advancing the Food Policy’s four priority action areas and six long-term outcomes. Membership is voluntary, and travel expenses for Council meetings are supported by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
