“The quality of governance that was sufficient to get your organization where it is today will be insufficient to get you where you need to be tomorrow.” – James E. Orlikoff
Strong governance is essential for organizational sustainability, growth, and systems change. This program is designed to strengthen the governance capacity of Black-led, Black-mandated, and Black-serving nonprofit boards by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to fulfill their fiduciary, strategic, and generative responsibilities. It integrates with the Black Ecosystem Approach (BEA), calling for a shift from isolated board leadership to collaborative, systems-based governance. Participants will explore how Afrocentric values, collective leadership, and architecture of engagement — involving all sectors of the Black community — are key to achieving transformational impact.
