Calgary's East African Communities Kick-start a New Storytelling Project
Calgary’s East African communities recently celebrated the launch of “Sharing Knowledge,” a community-driven news project in collaboration with CBC Calgary. The launch event involved gathering story ideas, interviewing community members, and planning future reporting projects with CBC journalists. More than 20 community leaders partnered with CBC to involve young adults in co-reporting stories from their communities for nationwide coverage. Over 600 community members participated in the events festivities, emphasizing unity and cultural exchange. The initiative is funded by the Calgary Foundation, Vibrant Communities Calgary, Genesis Centre, and CBC Calgary.
