To commemorate the abolition of slavery across the British colonies on August 1, 1834, we recognize the entire month of August as Emancipation Month. In remembrance, there will be a flag raising ceremony and community gathering at North York Civic Centre on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 3 PM EST.
