The Guelph Community Foundation has allocated $512,000 to support 11 local projects in Guelph and Wellington County. The funding stems from Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund, a government initiative with a $400 million investment to aid community services, nonprofits, charities, and Indigenous governing bodies across the nation. The funding aims to enhance organizations’ adaptability, modernization, and overall effectiveness in providing community services, especially during the pandemic recovery and beyond. Recipients of the funding include Compass Community Services, Guelph Community Health Centre, and Guelph Black Heritage Society. The foundation received 27 applications totaling over $1.3 million in requests for the recovery fund.
