Community service organizations faced several challenges during the pandemic including increased demand and reduced revenues. On August 17, 2023, the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Jenna Sudds announced that nearly 5,500 projects are being funded under the Community Services Recovery Fund. In partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada, this funding will empower nonprofits to revamp service delivery, invest in technology, pioneer novel fundraising approaches, foster staff well-being, and diversify funding streams.
