New Partnership with Black Opportunity Fund Supports Justice-related Services for Black Communities
The Law Foundation of Ontario has partnered with the Black Opportunity Fund to advance its inaugural Criminal Justice grant effort, supporting Black-focused nonprofits providing justice-related services. The Fund recently revealed grant recipients, including six projects backed by the Foundation, combining legal aid with comprehensive support to address crime’s underlying causes. Initiatives encompass aiding Black youth in the justice system, diversion programs, empowering Black girls and women against sexual violence, and legal workshops for racialized youth. The Foundation’s contribution doubled grant funding, enhancing justice services and access for Ontario’s Black communities. This partnership underscores a commitment to equitable justice and community welfare.
