Ontario Continues to Cut Red Tape to Improve Services and Money

The Less Red Tape, More Common Sense Act, 2023, introduced in Ontario, aims to reduce bureaucratic complexities and create an environment for nonprofits and businesses to thrive. Since 2018, regulatory changes have saved various organizations, including nonprofits, over $939 million annually. The Fall 2023 Red Tape Reduction Package includes 32 new measures to enhance services, reduce costs, and save up to 100,000 hours of time annually. These changes affect multiple government ministries, addressing various issues, from streamlining skilled trades data sharing to optimizing research funding processes. These efforts seek to foster a more efficient, business-friendly, and less burdensome environment for nonprofits and other stakeholders in Ontario.
