Ontario Government Announces Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant

The Ontario government has committed $25.5 million over two years to address the increase in hate incidents against religious and minority groups. The grant, which provides up to $10,000, can be used for upgrades, security assessments, training, cybersecurity measures, and repairs. Eligible organizations include religious, Indigenous, and cultural communities. The government’s investment aims to create safer and more inclusive communities, where individuals can practice their faith and express their culture without fear of targeting or discrimination. Applications for the grant will open in summer 2023.
