Reflections on the First Decade: Black Leadership at the UN Forum for People of African Descent
The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) collaborated to sponsor 24 Black Canadian civil society leaders to attend the Second Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent in 2023. This report reflects on their experiences and insights from the event, aiming to bolster the voice and participation of Black Canadian civil society on the global stage. It highlights lessons learned and perspectives gained, emphasizing the importance of strengthening representation in global initiatives promoting the rights of People of African Descent.
