Thrive Toronto Launches Plan to Improve Mental Wellness
Thrive Toronto has introduced Toronto’s first mental wellness plan, focusing on systemic factors like poverty, housing, and inequities. The plan, developed over 18 months, emphasizes a shift from mental illness to wellness. Key actions include a community mental health report card, a climate change and mental health strategy, stress reduction through housing access, expanded workplace mental health benefits, and a learning center for mental wellness. By addressing the root causes of mental health issues, the plan aims to create a more resilient and thriving Toronto. The collaboration is jointly funded by the City of Toronto, United Way Greater Toronto, and Wellesley Institute.
