What Does the Future Look Like for Non-profits Working in Networks
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the nonprofit sector has grappled with unprecedented challenges, including climate change, income inequality, systemic racism, and community polarization. Amid these pressing issues, the value of network models has become evident. Over three years, the Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN) observed increased collaboration and reduced competition among organizations, driven by shared goals and needs. Networks have played a vital role in information sharing and advocacy. As nonprofits confront heightened demand and constrained resources, the network model, with its shared leadership and adaptable purpose, emerges as an effective strategy to address these multifaceted challenges.
